Chuparrosa was born from our love of the spirit of Mexico, passion for food, freedom of travel, simple living, the beauty and tradition of hand craft and artisanal practices, and the desire to connect people and create community. Héctor is a self taught chef from México City where he grew up cooking with his family from a young age.

When Héctor moved to Portland more than a decade ago he wanted to share his culture and passion for Mexican cuisine. He creates community here through sharing his knowledge and inspiration of Mexican food, therefore preserving these rituals and traditions. He creates cultural events for his community incorporating local art, music and cultural celebrations.
